After using the RECF Ready app for about 6 weeks now, my students are more motivated to track their scores because they can press the “+” button as each task is completed and receive almost immediate feedback on their scores without worrying about a mistake in calculation. It also mimics the competition experience.
One suggestion to improve the app is to add the 3 mission timers like they have in the VIQRC Hub app. With the timers added, students can practice flying with the competition audio signals to begin and end a match and signal the time warp. So, to compensate, we open and run the VIQRC app’s one-minute timer for the students’ piloting missions while running the RECF Ready piloting calculator. If the app developers would add the 3 mission timers with the calculator, the experience would be more authentic.
